In Hindi “to like” translates to “पसंद होना”.

“पसंद होना” is a state verb. A state verb is a verb which describes a state but not an action.  These verbs are not used in continuous tenses.

Let us learn this verb with example.

“Deepak likes Alisha” means Deepak is in state in which he likes Alisha.

“Deepak is liking Alisha” is grammatically incorrect.

If you observe, the verb  “पसंद होना ”  is made of two words

पसंद = to like

होना  = state of being

पीटर को अलीशा पसंद है | (Deepak ko alisha pasand hai)  = Deepak likes Alisha.

मुझे अलीशा पसंद है | (muze alisha pasand hai) = I like Alisha

The pronoun to be used in case of verb “to like” is object pronoun.   

मुझे अलीशा पसंद है |I like Alisha.(mujhe alisha pasand hai)
तुम्हे दीपक पसंद है |You like Deepak.(mujhe deepak pasand hai)
मुझे तुम पसंद हो |I like you.(mujhe tum pasand hai)
दीपक को वड़ा पाव पसंद है |Deepak likes vada pav.(Deepak ko vada pav pasand hai)
हमें यह फूल पसंद है |We like this flowers.(hame yah phool pasand hai)
